MX102- Advanced Mixing

Subject Description : Advanced Mixing will provide student with further mixing, compressing, and equalizing experience. Students will continue mixing on a digital console; they will be trained in automation mixing, line mixing, and the structure of an advanced mix. Students will learn past and current styles of mixing from some of the world’s best mixing engineers. Students will each mix three songs with the instructor to add \ to student’s reel of work.

Maximum Instructor/Student Ratio : 7:1
Weeks : Two-week course, weeks 11-12 of six-month program
Performance Objectives : Upon completion, students will be able to mix 3 songs using:
1) EQ
2) File Management techniques
3) Advanced automation, and
4) Correct output levels.
Contact Hours : 20 Contact Hours, 10 per week including labs
Cost : Included in six-month program, total $12,000
Days/Times : Tuesdays, Thursdays 1 PM – 4 PM, 2 labs to be scheduled on weekly basis with instructor, 2 hours each
